On March 3, 2025, voice AI platform Deepgram launched Nova-3 Medical. The company claims it’s “the most medical transcription model in the world.”

Market research company Market.US says the medical transcription market will likely grow from $85.3 billion in 2023 to $190.2 billion by 2032.

In response, Deepgram developed Nova-3 Medical. Its advanced machine learning and specialized medical vocabulary training will set a new standard in healthcare transcription.

Nova-3 captures specialized medical terms, acronyms, and clinical jargon, even when speakers are away from microphones and other recording devices.

This AI model integrates medical transcriptions with clinical workflows and electronic health records. As a result, it ensures patient data is accurately organized and readily accessible.

Its flexible, self-service customization allows developers to create Nova-3 Medical programs for the unique needs of various medical specialties.

Moreover, its versatile deployment options like on-premises and VPC configurations, ensure enterprise-grade security and HIPAA compliance.

Lastly, its advanced text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-speech (STS) capabilities ensure enterprise-grade performance, adaptability, and cost efficiency.

“Nova-3 Medical represents a significant leap forward in our commitment to transforming clinical documentation through AI, said Deepgram CEO Scott Stephenson.

“By addressing the nuances of clinical language and offering unprecedented customization, we are empowering developers to build products that improve patient care and operational efficiency.”
