Japan's Trade Deficit Expands 56 Pct in Jan.

   Tokyo, Feb. 19 (Jiji Press)--Japan's customs-cleared trade deficit expanded 56.2 pct in January from a year before to 2,758.8 billion yen, the Finance Ministry said in a preliminary report Wednesday.
   The country posted a trade surplus of 132.5 billion yen in December.
   In January, exports rose 7.2 pct to 7,863.7 billion yen, and imports grew faster, gaining 16.7 pct to 10,622.5 billion yen.
