Japan's GDP Grows 0.7 Pct in Oct.-Dec.
Tokyo, Feb. 17 (Jiji Press)--Japan's gross domestic product in October-December last year grew 0.7 pct from the previous quarter in price-adjusted real terms, up for the third straight quarter, the Cabinet Office said in a preliminary report Monday.
The preliminary reading represents a 2.8 pct annualized rise.
In nominal terms, the country's GDP rose 1.3 pct in the fourth quarter of 2024 for an annualized increase of 5.1 pct.
Private consumption rose 0.1 pct in the October-December period from the previous quarter. Corporate capital spending expanded 0.5 pct.
For the whole of 2024, the country's real GDP rose 0.1 pct from the previous year.
