MANILA, Philippines – Tycoon Lucio Co-led retailer Puregold Price Club Inc. grew its first semester net income by 7.1 percent to P5.3 billion, driven by higher grocery sales and steady margins.

Consolidated revenues for the six-month period had risen by 11.6 percent to P109.9 billion from the same period last year, Puregold disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

Puregold said its earnings had been driven by strong top-line growth, complemented by stable gross margins.

Excluding sales recorded by stores that just opened in the first semester, Puregold sales went up by 6.4 percent while the higher-end format S&R Warehouse clubs delivered same-store sales growth of 4.7 percent.

As of end June 2025, Puregold operated a total of 764 stores nationwide, comprising 666 Puregold stores, 31 S&R outlets and 67 S&R New York Style quick-service restaurants. /dda
