MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived in New Delhi, India, at 2:20 p.m. (Indian Standard Time, or 4:50 p.m. Philippine time) on Monday for his state visit scheduled from August 4 to 8.

Before his official engagements begin on Tuesday, Marcos is expected to meet with members of the Filipino community in the city.

Marcos is visiting India upon the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs Assistant Secretary Evangeline Ong Jimenez-Ducrocq, the Philippines and India are expected to sign at least six agreements during the visit.

Marcos’s itinerary includes a bilateral meeting with Modi, a courtesy call on Indian President Droupadi Murmu, and discussions with other key Indian officials. He is also scheduled to meet with the Filipino community in New Delhi.

Several Indian CEOs have also requested to meet with the President in Bangalore — dubbed the “Silicon Valley of India” — on August 7 and 8./mcm
