Japan's Economy Shrinks Annualized 0.7 Pct in 1st Quarter

   Tokyo, May 16 (Jiji Press)--Japan's economy shrank at an annualized rate of 0.7 pct after price and seasonal adjustment in the first three months of this year, the first contraction in four quarters, the Cabinet Office said in a preliminary report Friday.
   Economists surveyed by Jiji Press had predicted a 0.3 pct annualized decline in gross domestic product, the value of goods and services produced within the country, for the first quarter of the year.
