Japan Coincident Economic Index Down 1.3 Points in March

   Tokyo, May 9 (Jiji Press)--Japan's composite index of coincident economic indicators for March fell 1.3 points from the previous month, down for the first time in four months, the Cabinet Office said Friday.
   The coincident index, which reflects current economic conditions, stood at 116.0 against 100 for the base year of 2020.
   The Cabinet Office maintained its basic assessment of the index as "halting to fall."
   The leading index, a yardstick for the economy's performance months ahead, fell 0.5 point to 107.7, the second consecutive monthly decline.
