Thailand's DSI Halts Cooperation With Cambodian Police on Human Trafficking Investigations

Thailand's DSI Halts Cooperation With Cambodian Police on Human Trafficking Investigations

Provided by Nation.

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has announced the suspension of joint efforts to finalize a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) agreement with the Cambodian National Police for human trafficking investigations, as a form of protest against the actions of the Cambodian government.

On July 25, 2025, the DSI published an announcement via its official Facebook page, stating that it has decided to halt the process leading to the signing of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with the Cambodian National Police, which had been aimed at enhancing cross-border cooperation in human trafficking cases.

The decision is explicitly framed as a protest against the actions of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
