Over 70 Pct of Japan Regional Banks Log Higher April-Sept. Profits
Tokyo, Nov. 14 (Jiji Press)--More than 70 pct of Japan's regional banks and banking groups posted net profit growth for April-September, reflecting higher interest income thanks in part to the Bank of Japan's interest rate hike, according to their latest earnings reports released by Thursday.
In the first half of fiscal 2024, 54 of a total of 73 regional banks and banking groups enjoyed year-on-year net profit growth or turned profitable.
