Showcasing lots of miniatures and dioramas, as well as gigantic flowers, the 2025 spring exhibition at the 'Hyakudan Kaidan' 100-step staircase, a tangible cultural property designated by the Tokyo metropolitan government, makes visitors feel as if they became Gulliver.

The wooden staircase connecting seven rooms at Hotel Gajoen Tokyo in the capital's Meguro Ward has been known for an annual exhibition of traditional 'Hina' dolls for Girls' Day on March 3. Although such dolls became low-key in the Jan. 18-March 9 'Miniatures x Hyakudan Kaidan' exhibition with the event's scope broadened, tiny furnishings, tableware and other goods to be displayed along with the dolls to wish for girls' well-being continue to stand out.
