Air New Zealand Gets World's 1st Delivery of Boeing 787-9

Air New Zealand received the world's first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner as the launch customer ahead of the planned start of commercial flights on the Kiwi airline's regular routes to Perth, Tokyo and Shanghai later this year. The stretched version of the 787-8 can fly further and consume 20 pct less fuel than conventional planes of similar size. Air New Zealand has ordered 10 787-9s to replace its current 767 fleet.
