Ugandan woman, accused of overstaying her visa, suffers epilepsy attack

Provided by Nation.

A woman from Uganda suffered an epilepsy attack and rolled on the Pattaya beach in Chonburi province on Saturday night after the immigration police found her to have overstayed her visa.

The tourist, identified as Rene (39), reportedly ran to the beach when the police tried to approach her. The police found that her visa had expired in 2023, so they tried to escort her to the Pattaya Immigration Office.

However, the woman developed epilepsy-like symptoms and rolled around on the beach in the presence of a large number of tourists.

The police contacted rescuers from Sawang Boriboon Foundation to relieve her symptoms with ammonia before taking her to the immigration office.
